About Celerum

Our Story

Celerum was founded in 2013 to develop and commercialise the work of Professor John McCall, Head of the School of Computing, Science and Digital Media at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.

Professor McCall has more than 25 years research experience in nature-inspired computing. He has undertaken many projects demonstrating the validity of Celerum’s approach to the technology.

They include a knowledge transfer partnership backed by Innovate UK with one of Scotland’s biggest privately-owned hauliers ARR Craib to maximise vehicle use and effectiveness. To date his research group at RGU has attracted 23 grants totalling more than £2.3 million, including nearly £1 million from six Innovate UK grants.

Previously SVP of global sales for a leading fleet management software business. 15 years commercialising fleet management and logistics software. 30 years in commercial senior management. Extensive knowledge in the software industry, more recently SaaS.

David Gladding

CEO

Director of the National Subsea Centre at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. More than 25 years’ research experience in logistics optimisations using AI. Led industry projects for BT, ARR Craib, Equinor and others, using nature inspired algorithms for optimisations.

Professor John McCall

35 years' experience in software development. Multi-domain knowledge including transport, healthcare, fintech. Specialised in scalable cloud platforms. Most recent role before Frontier was as Senior Vice President Development at Bango plc.

Mark Rosten

Director

45 years' experience in software development and IT management. Corporate and academic experience. Formerly Director of IT for Bristow Group having a global responsibility. Former lecturer at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, establishing IT management course.
